April

4-4-24 Keely kidded six days early, she had quads, 2B and 2D.

Beautiful Kids, 3 Blue eyed, 2 Moonspotted.

Unfortunately the last two,B/D, Moonspotted/BlueEyed had drowned in their sac 😭. Their lungs were full of Amniotic fluid and we couldn’t save them despite being there ready to help from the beginning to the end. We did everything possible to save them, but it was too late.

This is always what I dread the most about breeding. We did have two beautiful kids, a blue eyed Doeling (spoken for) and a Beautiful Solid Brown eyed buckling with frosted ears and muzzle. I’m evaluating him as he grows. The Kids were pulled at birth and fed heat treated Colostrum and are now being fed their Dam’s milk after it is pasteurized.

I’m following the procedures that Dairy and other breeders do which is preventing CAE from coming in on raw Milk to the kids. My herd has always been negative, but you can never be too careful.

Keely, is milking 10 lbs daily!

Keely, their Dam is being milked 2 times a day and is milking 10 lbs a day! I expect her to increase her production and hope to get her tested at a show this summer. Below are her surviving Kids
