July has been a busy month here at Mini Love Farm! I was able to find excellent homes for all of my mini’s and now I am creating a new line of first generation Mini Nubians.
Some people have had concerns that the offspring will be bigger then what they expect in a Mini Nubian, because the dam is a Purebred Nubian.
I think it all depends on what you your looking for in a Mini Nubian and what you want to do with your Mini Nubian.
Do you want milk, do you want Nubian Characteristics. Do you want to show, do you want more milk production.
Is a 24 inch goat what your looking for, or is a bit taller, long ears, beautiful Udder with well placed teats, soft dairy skin and milk production important to you?
It’s all about what’s important to you. For me after having Nigerian Dwarfs and Mini Nubians, I have been frustrated with poorly attached Udders with small teats, poor teat placement and lack of volume of milk.
I like to show my goats, I’m a newbie to showing, I’ll admit, but I want to have some fun and socialize with my goats and other goat people.
But I also want to be competitive. With first generation MN with a Nubian Doe and a Mini Nubian buck with all the Nubian characteristics you have a gorgeous goat from the start. No Airplane ears, no dish face, no dwarf look.
I realize this is not for everyone, but the Mini Nubian has a small gene pool. By bringing in new genetics from Top Quality Nubians, we should see a huge improvement for the Mini Nubian breed.
