Mini Love Farm Blue Cashmere

10/22

The AI Class was AMAZING! Both Keely and Pepper were Artificially Inseminated, now we wait to see if they take. I learned a lot, it’s pretty simple procedure, timing is everything. The most intimidating is working with the liquid Nitrogen. But by wearing protective gear I’m confident with handling it.

I’m excited about getting Blue Cashmere collected next Saturday the 28th. He is in seventh Heaven this week having 4 Mini Nubian Does here to breed.

10/13:

This month I have embarked on a new adventure in Artificial Insemination! I’ve purchased my tank and will be attending Karen Lewis of Frozen Assets, AI Class hosted by Judy Brevaart in Onalaska,WA on October 21st. I’m so looking forward to this class and the opportunity to breed via AI to many wonderful Nubian and Mini Nubian Bucks in the future.

I will also be having MLF Blue Cashmere collected by Karen Lewis of Frozen Assets on the 29th of October in Roseburg, Oregon at Oak Apple Farm, hosted by Duva Appleman.

I’m excited to be able to have Charms genetics available to me through the years. His Straws will be available to outside breeders as well.

With only 2 mature Does to breed this year, I keep going back and forth about who to breed them to.

I have 4 Nubian Does, extremely well bred Does for show and milk production, 2 mature Does and two 7 month old Nubian Does.

My Purebred Mini Nubian Buck, Blue Cashmere, aka “Charm”, I absolutely love! Charm has everything I could want or hope for in a breeding Sire.

Charm has a lovely temperament, he is so easy to do anything with. He throws Gorgeous kids with excellent Nubian Characteristics, excellent bone and feet.

So far Charm has sired six kids: 4 Does, and 2 Bucks 4 with Blue Eyes and 3 with heavy Moonspots. All with beautiful Nubian Breed Characteristics.

My dilemma is, do I breed them to Charm or do I breed them to Standard Nubian Bucks with Championship Pedigrees this breeding season?

As of this writing, the plan is to breed them to Standard Nubian Bucks, keep 2 Doelings to add to my herd, with my herd name on their papers.
