9- 7 – Fair was so much Fun! Enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting New friends in the West Coast Goat Community! Huge turnout for the West Coast Miniature Dairy Goat Association! 58 Participants mostly Mini Nubians! Heavy Competition!
My girls were so good for their first show, my first show too. In the 2 years old and under 3 years old there were 10 Does, my girls didn’t make the cut, they didn’t have the full Udders, but I’m so proud of them because they behaved so well in the ring!
Pink’s class, Senior Does 4 years and under 5 years had 3 Does entered, the other 2 Does had nice full udders and were beautiful.Pink took 3rd place but took 2nd place in Udder.
I feel that the Judge made the right choices, my girls had been in milk for 6 months and are near the end of their lactation, all three raised singles this year which didn’t give them the same production levels had they nursed twins or triplets.
All in all, I had a great time at the show and the fair, my girls were calm and very well behaved. Many other goats were very unhappy in the show ring and were letting their handlers know! This was our first live show, and I’m already planning on attending next year!
